A Pakistani trial court sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan to three years in prison in Toshkhana case, media channels said on Saturday.

Imran Khan was sentenced for not disclosing the sale of a wrist watch gift to the country's election commission.

Khan was ousted from power last year after a vote of no confidence succeeded.

The former Prime minister has repeatedly accused the powerful security establishment of planning his ouster from power.

Since his removal from power, more than 150 cases have been registered against him by Pakistani govt.

Khan has accused the trial judge of bias after his alleged Facebook posts against Khan resurfaced on media.

Imran Khan's political future hangs in balance as govt is set to announce new elections on 9th August.

Pakistan Tv reported: “Judge Humayun Dilawar announced that involvement in corrupt practices has been proven.”

Khan was not in court for the hearing, but the Reuters news agency reported that his lawyer said the former prime minister had been arrested in Lahore.

A conviction in the case could end Khan’s chances of participating in national elections that have to be held before early November.
