Nine Centres for Vote Counting in J&K

Srinagar: At least nine centres have been set up for the counting of votes in five Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, according to officials. One has been set up in Delhi for the counting of Kashmiri migrant votes.
 
The fate of 100 candidates will be decided, including senior BJP leader and Union minister Jitendra Singh, two former chief ministers – Omar Abdullah of the National Conference (NC) and Mehbooba Mufti of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former ministers Raman Bhalla and Choudhary Lal Singh of the Congress, GM Saroori of the DPAP, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi and Mian Altaf of the NC, Ashraf Mir of the Apni Party, and Sajjad Lone of the Peoples Conference. Former MLA Engineer Rashid is fighting from Tihar Jail.
 

Officials said all arrangements, including security and deployment of staff, have been made at all ten counting centres.
