Mohali, 12 January 2025 – Phase-11 police arrested Rajesh Sharma, owner of Multiaxis Immigration Consultants in Mohali’s Sector 67, for allegedly cheating a Bareilly-based resident and his associates of ₹6 lakh with false promises of New Zealand work visas.
Subrat Nandi of Bareilly filed a complaint accusing Sharma, a resident of Sector 70, of taking the money but providing fake job offer letters in return.
“We trusted him for genuine work opportunities abroad, but he deceived us,” said Nandi.
Inspector Gagandeep Singh, leading the investigation, confirmed that Sharma was arrested on Friday after verifying the allegations.
The case has been registered under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant provisions of the Immigration Act.
