Srinagar, Jan 10: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience fresh snowfall on Saturday as the Meteorological Department (MeT) has predicted light rain in the plains and snow at isolated higher reaches of the Himalayan region.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the MeT Department, stated that light rain is expected in Jammu’s plains, while snow is likely in isolated higher reaches of Kashmir, including the Pir Panchal and Chenab regions.

However, no significant weather activity is anticipated until January 18.

Dr. Ahmad further noted that generally dry weather is expected from January 12-14. On January 15 and 16, cloudy conditions may prevail, with a possibility of light snow over isolated higher reaches.

The MeT has also issued an advisory, warning of cold waves at isolated locations and urging tourists, travelers, and transporters to adhere to administrative and traffic guidelines.
