Srinagar, 28 February 2025 — Amid snowfall in Kashmir, authorities have extended winter vacations for schools and postponed  examinations, including those conducted by JKBOSE and the University of Kashmir.

Education Minister Sakina Masood Itoo announced on Friday that all schools in the Valley will now reopen on March 7 instead of the previously scheduled date.

“Keeping in view the inclement weather, winter vacation has been extended till March 6,” she said.

Meanwhile, JKBOSE has postponed exams for classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in hard zones that were scheduled for March 1 and March 3. “In view of the bad weather conditions, the examinations are rescheduled,” JKBOSE said in an official order.

The Class 10 and 11 exams originally set for March 1 will now be held on March 25, while the Class 12 exam scheduled for the same day has been shifted to March 24.

The board confirmed that the exam time and venue will remain unchanged.

Besides, the University of Kashmir has also postponed all exams scheduled for the next few days, citing adverse weather.

Fresh dates will be announced soon, officials said.
