Jammu: For the first time since 2019, political parties from Jammu and Kashmir will meet on August 7 in Jammu to discuss recent executive orders issued by the Government of India.

Sources said the agenda will include integrating the J&K police into the Ministry of Home Affairs budget, consolidating powers with the Lieutenant Governor, and discussing the upcoming assembly elections.

Expected attendees include the Apni Party, People's Conference, National Conference, People's Democratic Party, Congress, and other regional parties.

This will be the first meeting of all political parties since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The previous meeting occurred when the PAGD was formed to advocate for the restoration of autonomous status.

CPI(M) Leader M.Y. Tarigami confirmed that the parties will convene in Jammu on August 7 at 10:00 AM at the Radisson Hotel.
