J&K Govt Issues Avalanche Warning For 10 Districts

Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Disaster Management Authority has issued an avalanche warning for ten districts across the regions of Kashmir valley, Chenab valley and Pir Panjal for the next 24 hours.

The JKDMA said avalanche with ‘Low’ Danger Level is likely to occur above 2500 metres over north Kashmir’s Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara districts, central Kashmir’s Ganderbal and areas above 2000 metres south Kashmir’s Kulgam and Anantnag.

Similarly, the Disaster Manager Authority expressed its apprehension of ‘Medium’ Danger Level above 2500 metres over Chenab valley’s Doda, Kishtwar and Pir Panjal’s Poonch and Ramban districts.

People living in the notified areas have been advised to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche prone areas.
