Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir administration led by LG Manoj Sinha has declared Jammu and Kashmir free from Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in bovine animals after being ‘satisfied’ that no case was reported from any district across the Himalayan region on Monday.

According to a notice, the declaration has been made in the exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (5) of section 6 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals (PCICDA) Act, 2009, and in supersession of notification S.0 424 dated 05.09.2022.

“The move comes after the Government was satisfied that no cases of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) have been reported from any district of Jammu and Kashmir,” it reads.
