Two local courts in Pakistan sentenced former Pakistani PM Imran Khan to 14 years imprisonment along with his wife Bushra Bibi in state gifts case and 10-year imprisonment for revealing state documents.
As per the details, a court in Rawalpindi, on Wednesday stated that the accused couples are disqualified from contesting public office for 10 years while as, the court also charged a fine of 757 million rupees ($2.7m) on them.
Mr Khan also held an additional three-year prison sentence for selling gifts which he received during his tenure of PM from 2018 to April 2022. However, Khan secured his bail, though he still remains in jail facing other trial charges.
More than 100 cases were framed against Khan since he was ousted from Power in April, 2022.
Ahead of the general elections of Pakistan scheduled for February 8th. Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has already been stripped of its election symbol and most of its contenders will contest the elections as independent ones.
