Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief have been arrested by the paramilitary force over corruption allegations when he was appearing in Islamabad court on Tuesday.

Musarrat Cheema, a PTI leader, in a video message on Twitter, said: "They are torturing Imran Khan right now…they are beating Khan sahib. They have done something with Khan sahib."

"Imran Khan's car has been surrounded," Imran Khan's aide Fawad Chaudhry said. The PTI leader also said that Imran Khan was dragged out of the court and into a police vehicle. Terming it as an “abduction", Chaudhry said the former premier is now in the custody.

Khan, was ousted from power by a no-confidence vote in the parliament after 174 votes in the 342-members voted against him when his allies broke the alliance. The opposition alleged that he mismanaged the country’s economy.
