Four OGWs Held Along With Pistols, Grenades In Sopore: Police

Srinagar: Four persons accused of being OGWs (over ground workers) were arrested at a checkpoint laid by Sopore Police along with 22 RR (army) in Sopore town of north Kashmir on Monday.  

Police in a statement to The Himalayan Post said that Incriminating materials, huge cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession.
 
At a checkpoint, two individuals identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat (Main Handler) resident of Chanapora, Srinagar and Ishfaq Ahmed Shah resident of central Kashmir's Budgam were arrested, the police statement said. 
 
A  Pistol with a Magazine, 10 rounds and 3 Grenades was recovered from their possession, it said. 
 
"On further interrogation, two more associates identified as Abdul Majeed Kumar, resident of Bernate, Boniyar and Abdul Rashid Kuma,  resident of Pattan were arrested upon their revelation," it reads.
 
Another Pistol, Magazine, 10 rounds and 11 Grenades were recovered from their possession, it added. 
 
As per police, it was an (AGUH) Ansar Ghazwatul Hind module and one individual named Chaudhary from across the LOC Line of Control in Pakistan administered Kashmir was heading the armed group.
 
Meanwhile in Awantipora, Police along with 42 RR and CRPF recovered arms & ammunition including 202 AK rounds, 03 detonators, 7.62 mm 26 rounds, 02 rounds of Insas wrapped in Polyethene hidden under boulders at Bund Lalgam area of Awantipora
