Srinagar: The wildlife department’s team have successfully injected tranquilizer to the Himalayan black bear and his cub on Monday who were seen roaming in Srinagar’s rajbagh area on Sunday and reportedly injured a man in the lal-Mandi area of the city.
"After 21 hours non-stop searches, the Black Bear was spotted yesterday in Rajbagh area and tranquillised. Great job by the Team led by Wildlife Department, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Aijaz Asad said in a tweet.
"Area has been scanned and sanitized. All Educational institutions in the area shall open normally as per daily routine,” he added.
There are no official comments available on the presence of wild bear and the cub in the densely populated area of Srinagar city.
