Jammu, Jan 03: The son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chander Mohan Sharma was shot at and injured in Jammu on Friday, officials said.
According to sources, Kanav Sharma was attacked near the PDD office in the New Plots area of Jammu city after a verbal altercation with PDD officials.
Kanav Sharma, District President of BJYM Jammu, was confronted by one of the individuals, who then opened fire. The injured was quickly transported to Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital, where his condition is now reported as stable.
Speaking to the media outside the hospital, Chander Mohan Sharma accused a PDD employee of firing at his son with a personal pistol and fleeing the scene. He also confirmed that his son's condition remains stable.
"My son had parked his car near the PDD office. The individuals inside mistook him for someone investigating them, leading to a confrontation. During the altercation, one person opened fire and managed to escape," Chander Mohan Sharma stated.
He mentioned that the police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
Sources confirmed that two bullets were fired, but Kanav's condition is stable.
A police official added that initial investigations indicate the accused is a PDD employee, and a massive manhunt has been launched to apprehend him.
