Srinagar: After Veteran Congress Leader Ghulam Nabi resigned from Indian National Congress Party, five of its former legislators resigned from the party excluding Former minister and MLC R S Chib from the membership of Congress.
In a joint resignation letter, GM Saroori, Choudhary Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Amin Bhat, Gulzar Ahmad and Abdur Rashid Dar resigned from the party in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Chib sent a resignation letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, and wrote that Congress has lost momentum in contributing towards the future of J&K.
"I feel that the best course of action for me would be to part ways with your party," reads the letter.
