Ramban, Sept 23: Two police personnel were found dead inside a car at Ziarat Morh in the Sana area of Batote tehsil in Ramban district, officials said.
The two were found unconscious inside a Fiat Linea bearing registration number JK-19/5299 at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday, following which locals shifted them to District Hospital Ramban.
“Doctors declared them brought dead,” an official said.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed (408/Rbn), a resident of Bhatti Ramban, and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob (309/Rbn), a resident of Jatgali Ramban.
Both personnel were posted at the District Police Lines (DPL), Ramban, officials said.
Their bodies have been kept at the hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The exact cause and circumstances leading to their deaths were not immediately known. Police have initiated proceedings to ascertain what led to the incident, the official said.
