Srinagar, September 8: Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has been given additional charge of Jammu and Kashmir as incumbent LG Manoj Sinha proceeds on leave, the President’s office said on Tuesday.
President Droupadi Murmu appointed Saxena to discharge the functions of the J&K Lieutenant Governor in addition to his existing responsibilities as the LG of Ladakh.
In a communication, Press Secretary to the President Manisha Verma said, “The President of India is pleased to appoint Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lt Governor of Ladakh to discharge the functions of the Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Shri Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Saxena, a former Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, took oath as the fourth LG of Ladakh on March 16, succeeding Kavinder Gupta.
He has more than three decades of experience in the corporate and social sectors.
During his tenure as Delhi LG, Saxena initiated measures relating to urban governance, environmental conservation and public infrastructure.
