Srinagar: All entry and exit points to the Kashmir Valley have been closed due to snowfall. The closure includes key routes such as the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) road, Razdan Pass, Pir Ki Gali, Zojjila Pass, and Sinthan Top.
ย
These road closures include the Jammu-Srinagar Highway which serves as a vital link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India. Simultaneously, the closure of the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) road disrupts connectivity between Kashmir and Ladakh. Razdan Pass, now inaccessible due to snow, plays a critical role in connecting Line of Control (LOC) villages in Gurez.ย

Similarly, Pir Ki Gali links the region with Pir Panchalโ€™s Rajouri-Poonch area, while Sinthan Top serves as a crucial route connecting Chenab Valleyโ€™s Kishtwar.

An official said that the Jammu- Srinagar highway got blocked due to mudslides and shooting stones near the Mehar area after heavy rainfall in the area amid snowfall in Banihal.ย

The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) road has also been also closed due to snow accumulation, he said.ย
ย
Also, the snowfall led to the closure of several roads including Razdan Pass, Pir Ki Gali, Zojjila Pass, and Sinthan Top, he added.
