Doda, Jan 11 — An eight-year-old boy was killed and another child injured after an e-rickshaw they were travelling in met with an accident in Barshala village of Chenab region’s Doda on Sunday, officials said.
The victim was identified as Karan, a resident of Barshala.
Officials said the child was driving the e-rickshaw when it crashed under circumstances that are yet to be determined.
“He suffered critical injuries and died on the spot,” an official said.
“Another minor who was on board the vehicle was also hurt and is stated to be in a stable condition.”
Police rushed to the scene soon after the accident and shifted the body for medico-legal formalities.
A case has been registered and an investigation has been launched to establish how the incident occurred.
