Israel air strikes on the besieged Gaza has killed over 27 Palestinians including children and several leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement as attacks continued on the third consecutive day even as the Palestinian resistance groups fired more than 400 rockets back but all were intercepted by Israeli missile defences.
As per reports, more than 70 people have been injured.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced the death of Ali Ghali, commander of the group’s rocket launch unit, in a pre-dawn strike carried out by Israeli forces in Khan Younis.
“Rockets have been fired in retaliation to overnight Israeli attacks,” it said.
In a statement, UN’s General Antonio Guterres said he “condemns the civilian loss of life, including that of children and women, which he views as unacceptable and must stop immediately.”
