Srinagar, Jun 7:
Residents of Punchgund area of sub-division Beerwah in Central-Kashmir’s Budgam district rescued two leopard cubs while the two were found approaching towards residential area this evening.
These 2 leopard cubs were found at the peripheries of the residential area by few youths. The youths in a careful bid caught both the cubs and informed the Wildlife Department for handing over the duo.
The Wildlife Department reached the spot and took the custody of the rescued cubs.
Meanwhile a Wildlife Department official confirming it told GNS that they have taken the cubs into custody adding that they (cubs) will be shifted to rehabilitation centre Dachigam anytime soon.
"Vigil has been heightened over the area to see if there are anymore (cubs), adding that, "possibility of any leopardess can’t be ruled out", he further said. (GNS)
