Budgam: Police have arrested a man for raping a 19-year-old girl in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday.
Father of the rape victim – Mr. Ghulam Rasool filed a police complain that his 19-year-old daughter (name with held) has been forcefully raped by Mudasir Ahmed Wani, a resident of Zagoo Kharein, police said in a statement.
In this regard, police registered a case under relevant sections at Police Station Khansahib and arrested the accused within five hours, the statement reads.
Medical examination of the victim was conducted by a board of doctors at SDH (Sub-district Hospital) Khansahib, on the statement of the victim.
Offences under section 376 of the IPC (rape) and relevant sections has been implied upon the accused, police said.
