Srinagar: An 18-year-old boy drowned to death in a river in Rajouri district this afternoon, an official said.
He was identified as Talib Hussain, son of Mohammad Yousaf, resident of Mahore area in Reasi district.
He was currently enrolled in a Madrassa (religious seminary) and drowned while taking bath in a river at Kanthol Koteranka, the official said.
“Despite all possible efforts, he could not be saved”, he said.
Confirming the incident, a police official said that the body is being handed over to the family for last rites.
