Srinagar: At least 17 persons accused of drug peddling and narcotic smugglers were booked under (Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988) PIT-NDPS in Srinagar, police said on Wednesday.
Srinagar police on its official Twitter handle said that PIT-NDPS is preventive detention for one year akin to PSA.
“Seventeen Drug peddlers and Narcotic smugglers booked under PIT-NDPS. PIT-NDPS is preventive detention for one year akin to PSA, but focused upon persons indulging in drug peddling, narco smuggling, g, etc,” police tweeted.
