15 KG IED Found In South Kashmir’s Pulwama

Srinagar: An Improvised explosive device of 15KG was found by police in the Litter area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday, officials said.

"Police and SFs averted a major tragedy by recovering 15Kg IED planted by (militants) in village Armullah, Litter,” IGP Kashmir said in a tweet.

He said two associates involved in incident have been arrested.

The IED was detected on the roadside following which a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the area.

A day before explosives wrapped in gelatine sticks were recovered from a bus in Jammu. Before that, another IED was diffused on north Kashmir’s Baramulla Srinagar highway.

Earlier, this week, air-dropped IED parcels were found inside tiffin boxes at J&K’s Kathua.
